Espoo Ciné’s new initiative, the Cinéstesia programme building bridges between film and visual art, has received an enthusiastic response.
The two-day international seminar included in the programme brought together a total of 250 participants at the Espoo Museum of Modern Art EMMA and Cinema Orion. The seminar featured talks by Cinéstesia’s international guests of honour, curator Erika Balsom and filmmakers Ben Rivers and Nour Ouayda, as well as discussions on the role of moving image in the museum field and on the contexts in which films are distributed and presented.
The programme screenings have also received a positive response. The live cinema performances held on Monday, 24 August, drew a full house at Forum Box gallery. The main partner of Cinéstesia is the Saastamoinen Foundation.
Ben Rivers’ poetic documentary film Bogancloch will be screened on Sunday, 30 August at 8 pm at Kino Tapiola.
