Espoo Ciné and Kino Tapiola’s Finnish Spring Preview: Isänpäivä – March 4, 2026

Espoo Ciné and Kino Tapiola present a special Finnish preview screening of Isänpäivä (Father’s Day) at Kino Tapiola on Thursday, March 4, 2026, at 5:15 PM. The film’s director, Aleksi Salmenperä, will be present at the screening. After the film, a Q&A session will give the audience the opportunity to hear the director’s thoughts about the film and its production. Tickets are available in Kino Tapiola’s online store. The film and the Q&A will both be in Finnish.

The multi-award-winning director Aleksi Salmenperä (A Man’s Job, The Mine, Void) returns with Father’s Day, an honest tragicomedy about surviving life’s many challenges. In the film, Veikko (Tommi Korpela) helps his friend Tinke (Tomi Lindfors) navigate daily life in a residential care home. Tinke has drunk his health away, and his life is held together by humour drawn from its grim side. When the teenage daughters (Vilja and Varpu Rintanen) of a former groupie (Laura Birn) set out to discover who their father is, the trail leads to Tinke. Saimi intends to prevent the twins from meeting Tinke, but Veikko, who gets drawn into the mess, thinks otherwise.
