Espoo Ciné’s Sinun Ciné Idea Competition culminates on 21 August, the opening day of Espoo Ciné, at Elokuvateatteri Gilda!

Now in its fifth year, Sinun Ciné brings together emerging filmmakers to develop their film and series concepts with the support of experienced mentors. Sinun Ciné is Espoo Ciné’s initiative to promote greater diversity in the film industry and is aimed especially at groups that are underrepresented in the Finnish media landscape. The competition has been open to students, emerging professionals, and first-time creators alike.

In spring 2026, nine Sinun Ciné finalists took part in a series of workshop days together with their mentors. Throughout the summer, they have continued refining their pitches in preparation for the August final.

In addition to the pitching competition, this year’s final expands into a larger public event for film and audiovisual industry professionals. Whether you work in the industry or are simply interested in it, you are warmly welcome to attend the pitch presentations and professional talks.
