In Traces and Transitions, two live cinema performances are presented back-to-back, each engaging analogue film as a living, breathing material. What Goes Around Comes Around and Capacity for Resonance converge in a programme that reflects on the transformative forces of technology’s collision with nature, tracing the continuous processes of confrontation that shape the human being's relationship and experience with the accelerated modern world. Here, the performative potential of analogue cinema unfolds both as an act of resistance and as an invitation to a sensorial journey. An immersive invitation to embrace moments of rupture where resonance emerges through our capacity to empathetically engage with our surroundings.

In the wake of the green energy transition, structures of modern technology arise in the landscape. With increased electrical infrastructure consisting of for example wind turbines, power plants, transmission stations, interconnected energy systems are all around us. Smart and clean.
The belief in our salvation through the energy transition is unshaken, even if lots of nature has to be removed for it. What comes around goes around is an expanded cinema performance with 16mm projectors building up a kinetic panorama. It is a kind attempt of resistance in a world where technology, speed, youth and the triumph over nature are admired, and everything else is regarded as unwanted, slow, obsolete and backwards. An attempt in our fast paced world with smart, clean and super fast technology, to grasp the notion of time and duration which is incomplete and continuously growing, stating no beginning nor ending in a kinetic panorama.

In a modern society science and economic relationships has taught us to separate human beings from non-human beings. Dynamization and acceleration of modernity has fundamentally transformed our relationship to time and space, to other people, to the objects around us, and ultimately to ourselves. However, there are still some cultures and societies that view human beings in relation to the environment where they dwell. At the very essence of this relationship is sensoral engagement with the word - by our breath, gaze, touch, voice and presence which can be called – resonance.
This performance invites to an inner and outer journey of resonance in the world of light, sound, darkness and cultures that dwell in the world spiritually and physically.
