The new Crip Ciné festival will take place in Espoo and Helsinki from 12 to 16 April, 2025!

Current, thought-provoking, exhilarating, and critical – Crip Ciné brings a fresh selection of films about disability to the spring season. In its fifth year, the thematic programme from Espoo Ciné is expanding into a completely new event!

Espoo Ciné’s new spring festival, Crip Ciné, presents documentaries and fiction films that depict the realities of disabled people’s lives, as well as works by disabled filmmakers that challenge stereotypes about disability. Crip Ciné aims to offer all film enthusiasts an insight into the current state of disability-focused cinema while promoting more sustainable and multidimensional representation.

The five-day festival will take place on 12–16 April, at Kino Tapiola in Espoo and at Kino Regina and Maijansali in Helsinki’s Oodi Central Library.

Tickets for screenings at Kino Tapiola are 12€, while screenings at Oodi are free of charge.

Additionally, in April and May, there will be free online screenings and special Crip Ciné pop-up screenings organized together with our partners.

The full programme will be announced at the end of March!
