Outdoor Cinema: Fucking Åmål

Espoo Ciné celebrates the 50th anniversary of Espoo by organising a free outdoor screening of Fucking Åmål on Espoo Day, Aug 27!

The Programme

Espoo Ciné screens the 35mm version of Lukas Moodysson’s film Fucking Åmål in an outdoor cinema on Saturday Aug 27. The film is suitable for audiences aged 12 and above. The outdoor screening starts at 10 pm at Aurinkoterassi which is located in Tapiola, next to Espoo Cultural Centre.

The screening is part of the free programme of Espoo Celebrates! week, and it is organised in collaboration with Espoo Day and City Events Espoo. The event is supported by CultureEspoo and Kulturfonden Sverige & Finland.

Fucking Åmål

The hit film Fucking Åmål depicts in a relaistic and frank way the life of young people in a tiny Swedish town called Åmål in the 90’s. Elin and Agnes are frustrated and bored while looking for themselves in fucking Åmål – until they find each other.

With the LGBTQ+ film, Espoo Ciné wants to celebrate the more diverse Espoo and rainbow community too! Espoo Ciné is supported by CultureEspoo which is the official partner of Helsinki Pride this year, for the first time, for the more inclusive and equal Espoo. Fantastic!

We follow the Safe Space Guidelines at the event, you can read them on our website here.
