In July’s screening of Espoo Ciné Recommends, life is given one more chance.
The latest film by the multi-award-winning director Paolo Genovese (Perfect Strangers, The Place, Superheroes) delves directly into the core of the human experience: contemplating the value and meaning of life. This touching drama, spiced with magical realism, features four different protagonists who have each hit rock bottom and decided to give up. At the last moment, however, they encounter a mysterious man (Toni Servillo) who offers them a deal: a week to see what the world would look like without them. Will the protagonists, who have lost their will to live, find the strength to start anew and fall in love with life again?
The four desperate people in the film are played by Valerio Mastandrea, Margherita Buy, Sara Serraiocco, and Gabriele Cristini. The supporting role features Vittoria Puccini, who is known to Finnish audiences from Elisa di Rivombrosa.
The First Day of My Life will be previewed at Kino Tapiola on Thursday, 11 July at 17.15. Tickets and additional information are available at Kino Tapiola's box office and website.
