Celebrating European cinema and diversity in Espoo Ciné's programme 2022!
The Espoo Ciné film festival will be celebrated for the 33rd time from August 29 to September 4, 2022. The programme of the festival that celebrates European cinema has now been announced!
Espoo Ciné's Opening Film will be the film Three Thousand Years of Longing directed by George Miller, which is a romantic fantasy film for adults starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba. What an adventure begins when the narratologist refuses to make three wishes to the spirit in the bottle!
The Finnish Gala Premiere is Aleksi Salmenperä's Bubble, starring Minna Haapkylä and Tommi Korpela and the hugely talented Stella Leppikorpi. In the warm-hearted drama comedy, Eveliina, 16, decides to end her mother's extramarital love affair – without asking permission and stopping at nothing.
The festival culminates in the Closing Film Superheroes, directed by Paolo Genovese. It is a story about a couple who questions the possibility of a relationship in today's world. Is it possible to love another person for the rest of your life or does love require superpowers?
