The following films will be shown at the screening:

Lotte Salomons: Sanyi the Rooster (Sanyi kakas) The Netherlands 2025, 20 min , documentary, in Hungarian with English subtitles

Jenny Jokela: Dollhouse Elephant Finland 2025, 12 min, animation, no dialogue
Neighbour harmony is put to the test in a gorgeous animation in which every frame could hang on even the most discerning wall. The film has collected several awards at prestigious international festivals.

Leona Cauklija: Son Sweden 2025, 14 min, documentary, in Swedish with English subtitles
A mother's despair over the son she has lost to addiction drives her into criminal activity — through which, unexpectedly, a connection is finally found. This award-winning debut from Tampere has been selected for the New York Times' acclaimed documentary series.

Jenni Koljonen, Elina Mikkola, Juulia Niiranen, Anna Rohesalu: Tickler (Kutkuttaja) Finland 2025, 4 min, animation, no dialogue
You might imagine that a tickler's job is one of the easier ones. The film has other ideas. This four-director collaboration is a student work from Turku Arts Academy.

Inka Achte, EInari Paakkanen: Puolanka Pussy Rally Finland 2025, 6 min, documentary, in Finnish with English subtitles
The boys of Puolanka cruise around a fading small town on a summer evening, while the gentlemen of an older generation have parked themselves permanently in the petrol station café. One question hangs on everyone’s mind: where have all the women gone?

Lauri Karo: Bonfire (Kokko) Finland 2026, 15 min, in Finnish with English subtitles
Midsummer in a familiar place isn't what it used to be. Something has changed, but nobody talks about it. Premiere.

Jukka Kärkkäinen: The Beauty of Automobiles (Puskee veemäiseen paikkaan) Finland 2026, 6 min, documentary, in Finnish with English subtitles
A sharp-eyed short from the director of The Punk Syndrome, following a father and son on a car journey together, solving life's small big questions along the way. The film won the Risto Jarva Prize at the Tampere Film Festival (the other winner was its companion piece, the feature documentary The Beauty of Errors (Kappale kauneinta Suomea) by Jukka Kärkkäinen).
