Crip Ciné visits KAMU: Rest

Espoo Ciné’s Crip Ciné programme features documentaries and fiction films depicting the lives of disabled people, as well as works by disabled filmmakers that challenge stereotypes surrounding disability. The themed programme, which has been part of Espoo Ciné for five years, now continues with free pop-up screenings on the Crip Ciné kylässä tour, which this year also includes, for the first time, Crip Ciné kylässä Junior, aimed at children. To celebrate the festival, we are visiting KAMU, the City Museum of Espoo, at WeeGee House, where all four Crip Ciné programmes will be screened. The screenings are part of KAMU’s Free Friday programme.

The following films will be shown at the screening:

Aline Höch: Warum Schnecken keine Beine Haben (Why Snails Have No Legs) (Switzerland 2019, 11 min)

An animated film about the corporate world, where snails try to keep up with the breakneck pace of insects. The film contains no dialogue.

Marthe Peters: Henry Is a Girl Who Likes to Sleep (Belgium 2026, 14 min)
A gentle love letter from a young Dutch filmmaker to her sleepy cat – and, to some extent, to snails as well. In Dutch, with Finnish subtitles.

Jari Nordström: Suomen kova löylymies (Finland 2024, 6 min)
Suomen kova löylymies enjoys a sauna. The film contains no dialogue.
