When a retiring crime investigator’s career comes to an end, the Devil arrives at Pasila Police station. The recent retiree and the Devil, who has taken up the position of a crime scene photographer, develop a mysterious connection. The pair wander around crime scenes in the night, end up on a film set and listen to reggae in neighborhood bars. 

In the style of The Seventh Seal (1957), a human and a spiritual entity engage in dialogue in Helsinki’s summer nights. The city’s diverse environment acts as a backdrop for Kaurismäki-esque philosophising. Streetlights and sunsets paint a dreamlike atmosphere, in which the true meaning of the encounter starts to reveal itself. 

Balancing between fantastic and minimalistic realism, the film enchants with its subtle expression. Dialogue in Swedish, Finnish, French and Malayalam flows harmoniously throughout the duration adding further layers of meaning.
