Nora, a woman in her forties, has just beaten breast cancer. In drought-stricken Barcelona, she has the support of a reliable partner, Tom, and a job that allows her to make a difference in people’s futures. Yet neither her recovery nor her stable situation can bring her peace.

Nora feels a compelling need to embrace life with all her might – to love, to desire, and to feel more than ever before. She throws herself into a passionate secret affair with the young and handsome Max. Through these two very different men and relationships, Nora frantically tries to fill the void inside her.

Viva is the directorial debut of Aina Clotet, who is best known as an actress. She directs the film and stars in the lead role, bringing a down-to-earth touch to the story. Viva is not a medical drama but a film about life, death, and everything in between.
