Viktor Viktor Viktor

Viktor

Although the shadow of war looms in the background, Viktor is living a relatively normal life in his hometown Kharkiv, Ukraine. Having lost his hearing at the age of five, Viktor has developed a deep admiration for samurai warriors, and dreams of becoming a fighter himself one day.

Eventually, his romanticised attitude towards war is confronted by its harsh reality when the bombs start to fall onto Kharkiv. Viktor would like to do whatever he can in order to defend his homeland but his deafness complicates his plans.

Olivier Sarbil’s intimate cinematography and sound design provide us with a personal insight into how war affects individuals on the front line and beyond it.
