El 47

The 47 is an inspiring true story of determination and the fate of a neighborhood. Fed up with Barcelona City Council's claim that public transportation couldn't reach the Torre Baró neighborhood because the streets were too narrow and unsafe, Manolo Vital, one of its residents and a bus driver, set out to prove the authorities wrong.

The film tells the story of many neighborhoods formed in the 1950s by immigrants who settled on the outskirts of our country's major cities. In many cases, in homes built by their own hands after having to leave their land to build a future far from home. Years later, in the 1970s, many of these neighborhoods were still not considered part of the city. They often didn't even have running water, electricity, or other basic services.

The residents of the Torre Baró neighborhood themselves participated as extras in the film. The 47 has become the most watched film in the Catalan language of the last 40 years in cinemas across Spain.
