The programme features both Afroeuropean and Euro-African co-productions, as well as a free screening of a short film by one of Senegal\u2019s most renowned directors, <strong>Djibril Diop Mamb\u00e9ty<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What kinds of films from the African continent make their way into a Western film culture dominated by American and European perspectives? How is \u201cAfroeuropeanness\u201d already present in European cinema \u2014 and how should it be \u2014 as part of the way society and reality are portrayed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the discussion, <strong>Jenni Kivist\u00f6<\/strong> and <strong>Jussi Rastas\u2019s<\/strong> documentary <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/espoocine.fi\/en\/programme\/programme2026\/film\/appDRBKOCuy6k7uqo%3Atbl3ERifl3tqREFm8\/rec5jTYBXWK3D6QKH\/silent-legacy\"><em>Silent Legacy<\/em><\/a> <\/strong>(<em>Katseiden alla<\/em>) will be screened. The film explores identity, migration and the legacy of colonialism.
