Tell Everyone will have its Finnish premiere as Espoo Cin\u00e9\u2019s Finnish Gala Film at Louhisali on Wednesday, 26 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Premiering internationally at the G\u00f6teborg Film Festival, the film tells the long-silenced story of the women of Seili Island. Based on Amanda of the Night (Y\u00f6n kantaja, 2017), the novel by the film\u2019s screenwriter Katja Kallio, it is inspired by the real life of Amanda Aaltonen, who lived in the late 19th century. The film takes audiences into the dark history of Seili Island and the lives of women whose voices were suppressed by society. Featuring a stellar cast of leading Finnish actors, Tell Everyone is a harrowing and powerful story about the crushing pressure of a close-knit community, the fight for freedom, and a love that endures even where it is met with violence and oppression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The screening will be attended by director Alli Haapasalo, screenwriter Katja Kallio, and actors Marketta Tikkanen and Krista Kosonen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event will also feature the presentation of the Poster Cin\u00e9 Award, celebrating the art of Finnish film posters. The award will be presented by Carson Chan, Chief Curator of the Museum of Architecture and Design. A preliminary jury appointed by the Espoo Cin\u00e9 Board has selected this year\u2019s Poster Cin\u00e9 finalists. Competing for the 2026 Poster Cin\u00e9 Award are Juho-Pekka Tanskanen\u2019s poster for The Last Misfits by The Golden River, Antti Uotila\u2019s poster for The Helsinki Effect, Hermanni Suppanen\u2019s poster for The Summer Book, Mia Selin\u2019s poster for Never Alone, and Herra Ylpp\u00f6\u2019s poster for Kronos Kairos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to Carson Chan\u2019s jury prize, the Audience Favourite Award will also be presented during the event.
