In the late 1980s, Kirsi Viilonen rose from being a cosmetics saleswoman to becoming a national sensation as "Kikka." Her bold stage outfits and slightly risqué lyrics penned by some of Finland's top songwriters gained both admiration and disapproval from the public. Kikka became one of Finland's all-time most beloved female artists, but her life tragically ended too soon at the age of only 41. Anna Paavilainen's tender directorial debut paints a compelling and authentic picture of Finland in the 80s and 90s, depicting an artist who paved the way for women's open sexuality in the country. Sara Melleri delivers a brilliant performance as Kikka and was awarded a Jussi Award for her role.
