A group of women from different generations undergoe physical and emotional purification in this intimate documentary, where the camera gets up close and personal. Director Anne Hints has succeeded in bringing stories that are not told in just any surroundings to the big screen. Personal and often painful narratives are shared among women in a space rarely accessible to outsiders. The camera is present, but amidst the warmth of the smoke sauna, these women are undisturbed and openly share their experiences with each other. Sometimes they take a dip in the icy water, other times they cool off on the terrace during warm summer nights. Beautiful and sensitive portrayal of women in various life situations.
