Heartbeast

Heartbeast follows Elina, an aspiring young rapper who moves to the French Riviera to live with her mother’s new partner. Elina becomes infatuated with her step sister Sofia, a talented ballerina who leads a reckless double life, desperately struggling to keep up with the high expectations of everyone around her.

The film explores the blurred lines between friendship, love and manipulation, as Elina's crush grows into a dangerous obsession. Skillfully portrayed by the charismatic Elsi Sloan and Carmen Kassovitz, Heartbeast relatably depicts the complex mindscapes of the two young characters. Combined with a dynamic soundtrack and a vibrantly saturated color palette, Aino Suni's direction immerses the audience in a world of high emotions and electric tensions.
