Solar Wind Alley

Alice lives with her younger sisters in a rural Finnish village, in a house their mother build before she passed away. As the new head of the family, she wants to protect her younger sisters and shelter them from the outside world. When the solar storm hits the village it leaves everyone without electricity and puts the community in the middle of a crisis.

Solar Wind Alley was in the official selection of Cinema of the World section at 53rd International Film Festival of India and in the Official Selection of 31st Arizona International Film Festival, USA.

The screening, organized in collaboration with Yle is part of Yle Teema's new Indie Club. Indie Club highlights Finnish indie cinema, which is often created with a small budget and outside traditional funding structures, guided by strong passion, a spirit of experimentation, and independence.

Director Anastasia Lobkovski, actor Alina Tomnikov, and writer Jarkko Olavi Virtanen will be present at the screening. There will be a Q&A after the screening.
