The strong, diabolical and at moments hilarious drama that won the Silver Bear for the Best Screenplay at Berlinale this year and was chosen as the best German film of the year, reminds us of the German film Toni Erdmann, which proved to be a success in Finland as well. Lars Eidinger, who was also a guest at Espoo Ciné, plays the most impressive role of his career as a nice-looking but self-centered orchestra leader Tom, who is so full of himself that he is even late for his father's funeral. Tom's sister Ellen (Lilith Stangenberg) is his complete opposite: a troublemaker who passionately lives in the moment and enjoys messing her head up with substances. Music, family, relationships, life, death and the dentist come together in a deliciously impressive and gripping portrayal of human relationships, which the director Matthias Glasner skilfully keeps together.
