Elsa has fallen into an abyss of sadness and longing after the disappearance of her astronaut brother on his first space mission. Although the artistically talented young woman is able to deal with her loss through her drawings, her life seems to be in a permanent standstill. One day Elsa receives a message from space: her brother could come back, but only if Elsa is willing to help distant visitors on their mission to planet Earth.
The live-action debut of Frenchman Jérémy Clapin, known for his successful animation I Lost My Body (2019), is an audiovisually accomplished and atmospheric sci-fi drama at once sad, ominous and philosophical. What are we ready to sacrifice for our loved ones – and does everything really happen in the surrounding reality or only in Elsa's mind?
