Actor Tayo Cittadella Jacobsen to visit Espoo Ciné

This year's Espoo Ciné will feature Sex Love Dreams, a trilogy by acclaimed Norwegian director and screenwriter Dag Johan Haugerud.

The final installment of Haugerud’s trilogy, Dreams, won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year. The first part, Sex, won the Nordic Council Film Prize in 2024. The second film, Love, had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

Visiting Espoo Ciné will be actor Tayo Cittadella Jacobsen, who plays the male lead in Haugerud's Love. During his visit Jacobsen will participate in panel discussions and screenings.

Espoo Ciné will also screen Haugerud’s 2020 film Light from the Chocolate Factory, offering an early glimpse into the director’s minimalist approach to depicting human relationships.

Another highlight of the festival’s programme is Mirrors No. 3 by Christian Petzold. In the film, Laura finds refuge with a stranger’s family after the accidental death of her partner—only to uncover dark family secrets. Mirrors No. 3 premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The programme also features François Ozon’s When Fall Is Coming, a layered drama about Michelle, who is quietly enjoying her retirement. After attempting to poison her daughter with mushrooms and being denied access to her grandson, she falls into a depression until her friend’s son is released from prison and brings unexpected change.

The full Espoo Ciné programme will be announced on July 31.
