In their first collaboration, director Aaron Schimberg and actor-disability activist Adam Pearson explore some of the same themes they later revisit in films such as A Different Man. These topics include poor self-esteem, the artificial realities created by art, and the twisted attitudes and narrow roles that disabled individuals face both on screen and in real life.

Successful actress Mabel (Jess Weixler) meets her facially disfigured co-star Rosenthal (Pearson) in an old hospital during the shooting of a film, whose cast is filled with unique characters. The viewer is invited to follow the intertwined story being filmed in the movie and the mishaps occurring during production. The film overflows with references to disability representation in films, especially in horror genres. It is also worth paying close attention to the discussions behind the scenes, as the best jokes might slip by unnoticed!
