Screenings

The film's main character, Patrice Jetter, is an incredibly impressive person! Coming from difficult circumstances, Patrice seems to have had to fight for nearly everything in his life, yet she has managed to maintain a determined attitude and a belief that things can be made better.

The refreshingly topical film highlights the unimaginable injustices faced by people with disabilities, such as the loss of social benefits following marriage. It also paints a sad picture of an ableist society, where systems are designed solely with the able-bodied majority in mind, and where everyone is expected to be the architect of their own happiness. Against this backdrop, however, Patrice’s creativity, humor, open-mindedness, and determination shine through. She is one of those people who truly inspires others to believe in change and the power of friendship.

– Mickael Suominen

Patrice: The Movie will be preceded by a short, romantic music video Tero ja Mari produced by MEKA TV, a video workshop from Western Finland.
