Something Is About to Happen

Lucia is a thirty-something IT-worker from Madrid, who lives a conscientious life. She goes to work, supports her friends, and helps her elderly father, until one day, as she is trying to get to her office, the police are waiting at the door. No one has gotten their salaries for months but when Lucia finds out that her boss has embezzled the company's money, her life and mind begin to crumple. Encounters with a neighbour, a taxi driver, and clients from her new job drive Lucia to face both the lies that she has told to herself and those others tell her. Lucia's self denial has kept her together so far, but blow by blow those around her rip apart the last tethers of her sanity. This psychological thriller, laced with dark humor, depicts the protagonist´s attempt to steer her own life; to drive something to change and to find a way to live a good life in this cruel world. The film asks what it means to live, where lies the line between art and real life, and how is truth defined.
