Screenings

Eva, played by Sidse Babett Knudsen (Borgen, Westworld, Inferno), is a motherly and idealistic prison guard in the middle of a male-dominated and cold Danish prison. When Eva recognizes a new arriving prisoner, she finds herself in the crossfire of justice and revenge. Gustav Möller's second feature film, Sons (Vogter), examines normality, morality and power, and their shifting boundaries that build up between us like the bars of a prison cell. The structural problems that maintain the power position of the legal order are reflected in the personal failures of the film's protagonist. Dreary and raw audio-visual narration, combined with the sharp acting and the tormenting plot create a claustrophobic but addictive atmosphere in the film, capturing its viewers from start to finish.
