Actress Pihla Sucksdorff (Laura Birn) sails from one victory to another on the verge of an international breakthrough. The pressure is high, as the actress' sell-by date can come brutally quickly in show business. The mood at home is tightened by author spouse Eero Kaila (Tommi Korpela) whose eagerly awaited next novel does not take off. Can Pihla have both a family and a career? How long will Eero's editor be able to listen to his lousy explanations? Aleksi Salmenperä's Void, awarded with four Jussi awards, is an outrageously funny depiction of the art market and the price of success.

Void is preceded by Two Bodies on the Beach (2019), directed by Anna Paavilainen, and written by Paavilainen together with Laura Birn. The short film does away with the most clichéd female roles in both entertainment and art films.
