On Monday, 14 April, Crip Ciné offers a treat for horror fans! The evening kicks off with a chilling live performance as punk guitarist Pertti Kurikka’s alter ego, Kalevi Helvetti, takes the stage. Before the feature film, the programme includes the short film Kauhujen talo ("House of Horrors"), produced by the MEKA TV network. The night concludes with the documentary Sam & Mattie Make a Zombie Movie.

Sam and Mattie are best friends who want to make a zombie movie. They get help from Sam's brother Jesse and his colleague Robert, who work in the film industry. This fast-paced documentary about filmmaking focuses on the wild visions and the joy of creation of these inventive friends with Down syndrome, but it also serves as an exciting and informative crash course on indie film production and distribution. Along the way, as Sam and Mattie promote their film, they even end up appearing on Conan O'Brien's talk show. The film also includes the fruits of Sam and Mattie’s creativity: the finished movie Spring Break Zombie Massacre, which is packed with demons, fake blood, wild fun, and all the cheesy genre thrills. Satan has been haunting Sam and Mattie since their birth, but when spring break parties are in danger, tough action is required.
